Welcome to Third Grade!

Dear Wildcats,

Welcome to the third grade!  I’m excited for a year of fun and learning with you all.  

When I was your age, I went to school in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  When I decided to become a teacher, I attended Lander University and then Columbia College.  Then, I moved to Greenville and taught fifth grade and now I’m proud to be a Wildcat.  I come from a big family and have three sisters.  I can’t believe one of them just became a dentist!

One thing you will learn about me, is that I love to read.  We are going to read so many different books together this year.  You will quickly discover that Patricia Polacco is one of my favorite children’s authors.  This year, you will have your very own reader’s notebook to record and share your amazing book adventures.

In our class, we work to be respectful, responsible, and ready to learn.  Remember to have a positive attitude throughout the year and work hard.  It's going to be great!
